Immigration Reform AD 2006
spacebar

The large immigration rallies throughout the United States have focused the attention on issues we might rather avoid: 11 million illegal immigrants, border protection, and exploitation of foreign workers.

Certainly, the US Congress has sought to avoid these issues for decades. Political parties are reluctantly championing immigration reform more for the political benefits of future voters than for genuine concern for civil and human rights. For the most part, major evangelical Christian groups have been muted on immigration reform, as well.

Perhaps the key consideration for Christians is: how should we live and respond as kingdom citizens in a secular society? Is it possible that we have come to this “moment in time,” as a nation, to show love to “strangers” and “aliens” as the foundation for great evangelistic purposes?

Let us pray that as immigrants seek to assimilate into our English speaking society, the music and ministry we share over KTLW can be a source of education and inspiration.

"…Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.” Psalm 96:2,3 NIV

“May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you.” Jude 2 NASB
